FORT PROTECTION SERVICE CORP. (FPS)

Job Description

Position: Security Professional

Reports To: Luke Ellis
Salary: $18–$20 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Various sites (dependent on assignment)

Purpose of the Position

The Security Professional is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets. This role supports FPS’s layered security strategy: deter, deny, delay, detect, and respond to threats.

The position may require assisting law enforcement when necessary, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring professional representation of FPS and its clients at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.

  • Read, understand, and adhere to all FPS and client company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain personal and company-issued vehicles in clean and operational condition.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; arrive early and prepared for each shift.

  • Record all shift details and observations in the issued notebook in accordance with SSIA guidelines.

  • Prepare and submit complete daily reports and professional hand-offs.

  • Deter, detect, delay, deny, and respond to threats as required.

  • Assist law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Canadian citizenship or legal authorization to work in Canada

  • Valid Alberta (AB) driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract

Preferred Qualifications

(Training may be provided for selected candidates)

  • ABST certification (with Vulnerable Sector Check)

  • PPCT certification

  • First Aid & CPR-C certification

  • Protect certification
