Fort Saskatchewan, AB – October 20th, 2026

Following the results of Alberta's October 19 referendum, in which Albertans voted in favour of remaining a province of Canada, the Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce is looking ahead with a renewed focus on economic stability, investment confidence and opportunities for growth.

The Chamber recognizes that important economic and policy concerns remain, and that addressing them will require continued cooperation between the provincial and federal governments.

With the referendum question now answered, we are hopeful that greater clarity will allow governments, businesses and communities to turn their attention toward the economic priorities that matter to Albertans.

For our region, priorities include improving market access, reducing interprovincial trade barriers, supporting infrastructure development and maintaining a competitive and predictable environment for investment.

As we move forward, the Chamber will continue working with government, industry partners and the broader Chamber network to advocate for these priorities and support the long-term prosperity of our region.

Our focus remains on fostering the economic conditions that allow businesses to plan, invest and grow with confidence.
